Members of the platform have expressed outrage after an update resulted in items being listed as the wrong size.

The second-hand shopping app has updated its sizing categories for female and kids' apparel but did not contact every member regarding the update.

Social Media Backlash

Many shoppers and sellers are expressing on platforms saying Vinted listings now show an altered size classification versus the original listing because of the remapping.

The platform stated the new system was more in line with comparable marketplaces.

It has advised users to review their products and update the measurements by hand when needed, causing user dissatisfaction.

Sizing System Updates

Earlier, the sizing featured one number and one letter, such as S/8 or M/10.

The new system has a letter with a size spectrum for example S/UK 8-10.

For certain items, the measurements have been reclassified - like an L measurement used to be a 12 but is now a UK 16-18.

User Accounts

One content creator, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder".

"Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," as the platform currently indicates.

Another user, located in Scotland, stated items she posted featuring size 14 markings were showing in the marketplace as size 20–22.

"If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they're going to be very disappointed," she said.

Necessary Adjustments

Charlotte Lunn, located in England, explained she became annoyed due to the update requiring manual adjustment the measurements for "each individual item".

"For me this is particularly frustrating, since I have chronic health issues and platform income has been essential for me since losing part of my income," she said.

Service Background

The platform boasts over 100 million shoppers, with 18 million British users.

It has become a favored option to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop.

This represents another occasion where an unanticipated change to the app has proved unpopular: previously, the platform withdrew an update to its shipping options following member complaints.
